Long time County Councilman Jim Burns is not running again, which puts aside a lot of rumors from the past few weeks about his future plans. So, unleash the hounds for new candidates! Seriously, District 21 will see a lot of interest from candidates since:
A. It is a wealthy district.
B. A politically active district.
C. People always throw their hat in the ring when an incumbent steps down.
Though, we wish Jim luck in what he plans to do next, which according to the Greenville News article, is "time for me to step down and focus on family, business and other interests in our community. It has been my honor to represent the people of my district and to work alongside them for these many years to promote quality of life and responsive government.”
Now, we wait to see who files to run!
