Filing for local political offices starts this week. Wednesday, March 16 to be precise and ends on March 30 if a person is a running as a party affiliated with an elephant, donkey or some third-party animal. Sheriff makes almost $160,000, a county councilperson makes $27,008.28, and the coroner and register of deeds each makes a shade above $111,000.

Filing fees range from $1,000 to more than $6,000.
