Simpsonville continues to provide the best political fodder right now in Greenville County, but that should change soon once the primary season heats up. Until then, let's grab the popcorn and watch the latest unfold.

According to WYFF, a group of residents have filed a lawsuit against the City of Simpsonville over the suspension of Police Chief Keith Grounsell. The suit says "Simpsonville city officials violated the Freedom of Information Act by meeting in executive session on Monday, April 4, and taking a vote but never telling the public what they voted for, or the purpose of the executive session. The Council suspended Grounsell for 30 days without pay."

Leading the list of 15 "signees" is former acting Mayor Geneva Lawrence, who was ousted form her throne last November by Janice Curtis, who is now the leader of the embroiled city. Sounds like an episode of "Mean Girls," but with grandmothers.
