Tomorrow is a big day in Greenville. There are nine open primaries races where voters will get their opportunity. See below for details:
Republican
SC Senate – District 5 (Inc. Tom Corbin, John B. White)
SC Senate – District 6 (Inc. Mike Fair, Johnny Edwards, William Timmons)
SC Senate - District 12 (Inc. Lee Bright, David McCraw, Lisa C. Scott, Scott Talley)
SC House of Reps. – District 22 (Inc. Wendy Nanney, Jason Elliott)
County Council – District 18 (Inc. Joseph R. Baldwin, Mike Barnes)
County Council – District 21 (Lance Byars, Stacy Kuper, Rick Roberts) – no incumbent
Sheriff (Inc. Steve Loftis, Bruce Cannon, Hobart Lewis, William D. Will Lewis, Sam Manley)
Democratic:
SC Senate – District 7 (Inc. Karl B. Allen, Lillian Brock Flemming)
County Council – District 25 (Inc. Lottie Beal Gibson, Bajeyah Eaddy, Martha B. Evans, Ennis Fant, Bunk Johnson)
Some fast facts on these races:
Only one, Greenville County Council 21, does not feature an incumbent
Unless someone runs as a write-in, only three of the winners for these races will have challengers in November, so this is for all the marbles so to speak.
Those three are Greenville County Council 21 where Bill Michaud is running as a libertarian, State Senate 6 where Roy Magnuson is running on the Constitutional ticket, and State Senate 7 where Glen L. Robinson is running as a Republican.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
For a runoff to occur, no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote. The top two vote getters will be placed on a new ballot that will be held in two weeks.
A recount is automatic if the vote spread if less than 1 percent.
