Connor Shaw wades into State Senate race

Former USC quarterback Connor Shaw is backing the political rival of another form USC quarterback in the race for State Senate 6.

Shaw sent out this tweet Monday where he changed his profile picture to one being used by supporters of Williams Timmons, who is running to unseat incumbent Mike Fair. The most interesting on this is that Fair was the Gamecocks quarterback in the 1960s. Shaw was the quarterback in the 2010s.

Not sure if this will tip the scales tonight, but it is interesting. We wonder if Johnny Edwards, the third challenger, in State Senate 6 has a former Gamecock quarterback in play. What's Steve Tanneyhill up to?
