Sheriff's Office Bombshell coming?

A lot of emails are flying around about a press conference involving Sheriff Steve Loftis slated for this afternoon. A lot of rumors, but the general assumption is Loftis is going for the knockout punch in his race with Will Lewis.

To recap quickly what is going down. Four people announced this year to take on long-time incumbent Steve Loftis for sheriff in the Republican Primary last week. Loftis drew 42 percent, and Lewis was next with 18 percent to force a runoff. To put that in perspective, Loftis needs to find eight points to win on June 28. Lewis needs 32. This should go to Loftis, but Lewis has been trying to marshal together the people from the other three races with the rallying crying that 58 percent of the people voted against Loftis. He also has challenged Loftis to a final debate.

Anyway, we hear that Loftis is going to quash the debate and take down Lewis in a fell swoop today.
