Time for a quick political recap on the races still out there:
Greenville County Sheriff’s Office
This has become a war of words in the last 24 hours as incumbent Steve Loftis has slammed opponent Will Lewis’ record. Lewis turned around and slammed Loftis. He then brought out a man named Brandon Brown to make claims on Loftis. The Loftis team then brought out Brown’s former employer to slam Brown and Lewis. Brown appears to be this person, who like Lewis left the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office under a dark cloud. Confused yet?
State Senate District 12.
The battle to unseat Lee Bright has gotten heated as Gov. Nikki Haley endorsed his challenger, Scott Talley. Then David McCraw, who won the Greenville side of the district a few weeks back, endorsed Talley. Then people fired some weird stuff at McCraw. Then Bright held his own press conference chock full of nuts, we mean supporters.
State Senate District 6
The William Timmons campaign continues to find some unique social media posts. This week was Yoga for Timmons. Meanwhile, incumbent Mike Fair appears to be doubling down on being uber conservative. Word is that many of the far right are trying to marshal a campaign to keep Fair afloat.
County Council Seat 25
The Greenville News finally reported whatever everyone has been asking. How the hell can Lottie Gibson serve when she hasn’t shown up since to a meeting since January. The charge came from Ennis Fant, who is the challenger in the runoff against Gibson. Some political insight into the Greenville News story and the people who defended Gibson. Her campaign manager, Jack Logan, runs a nonprofit called Put Down the Guns Now that is heavily pushed by Karl Allen, who is also quoted in the article.
County Council Seat 21
No major battles here, yet. Rick Roberts is doing a Facebook campaign where every day he posts one of his key talking points. Meanwhile, Stacy Kuper is focusing on endorsements, news articles and showing the distance between her and her challenger.
