Last day to register to vote in November is today

I could give a spiel about making a difference by registering to vote, but it doesn't matter. It is very easy to register to vote. Very easy. The problem we face is getting people to actually show up at the polls in November.

That being said this is the last day to register to vote for the November election. Learn more how to do that here. While the presidential campaign leads the way, I feel there will be a "low" turnout for this one in the Greenville area.

Why? I see a lot of Republicans disgusted by their option on the presidential side and they won't vote. On top of that, there are no real local races of note. Seriously. The only race where a Republican is taking on a Democrat is in State Senate Seven where Glen L. Robinson is taking on incumbent Karl Allen, who is fresh off beating Lillian Brock Flemming in the primary.

Every other challenged local race features an incumbent either running unopposed or a third-party candidate. By our count, there are 26 partisan races featuring candidates based mainly in Greenville. Of them, 22 are unopposed.

So, yes, I put out a get out and register story. But it doesn't matter now. You should have voted in June.
